Robocon was introduced to U.V Patel College of Engineering in the year 2013 by Mr. Jaineel Dalal and team under the guidance of Mr. Parag Taktawala and prof. J.K Prajapati the first steps for the establishment of the team was by forming the Skyrock robotics club which was founded with a motive to give hands-on experience in the field of robotics to the students of the U.V Patel College of Engineering. The first team which then participated with name team Utkarsh achieved the glorious feet of winning best rookie award and securing 17th rank in national robocon 2013.

Team Utkarsh was founded on 4th October 2012 in U. V Patel College of Engineering with a view to participating in Robocon 2013. Team Utkarsh consisted of a group of 24 students who were united together by their passion for engineering and their desire to fulfill a dream of competing in Robocon Vietnam 2013.

After the heroics of the first team the robocon club was formally established in the college and till now it is one of the most elite clubs in the college where every year 100s of student applications and out of the best are selected to represent the college in the national level ABU robocon. The team has come a long way since 2013 bagging various awards, certificates and good ranks during the short journey of five years. The team has seen various ups and downs during this journey and have managed to come back on top despite various hardships and would sincerely like to thank all the various alumni, sponsors, and faculties of college for having continuous and longing support through this journey.
